Habitat for Humanity to Serve Root Beer Floats

Free root beer floats on a hot summer day! Habitat for Humanity of Boone and Greene Counties will serve free root beer floats on Saturday, June 8, from noon until 2 p.m. The event will take place at the Habitat booth in front of Prairie Blue on the west side of the square. Visitors will have the opportunity to sign some 2x4 framing studs that will be used in local Habitat houses.

Habitat for Humanity is a an ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating poverty housing in local communities and around the world. Simple, decent homes are built using volunteer labor alongside the partner family, which is required to invest a minimum of 300 hours in the project. Homes are then sold to the family with a zero interest mortgage. To volunteer or donate to these efforts, call the Habitat office at (515) 432-1168.

Free will donations will be gratefully accepted. Stop by and learn more about what Habitat for Humanity is all about while enjoying a root beer float.
